Full stack development with Neo4j: the GRAND stack (GraphQL, React, Apollo, Neo4j DB)
Note: Trainings and workshops will be held on October 23rd at Convene Conference Center, located at 810 7th Ave, New York NY. All sessions on this day require a ticket type that includes "Training and Workshop Day."

In this workshop, we explore full stack application development using the GRAND stack (GraphQL, React, Apollo, and Neo4j Database) for building web applications backed by a graph database. During this workshop we will build a simple movie recommendation web application. We'll cover how to build a React component, an introduction to JSX, an overview of GraphQL and why it is a game-changer for front-end development (especially when combined with Neo4j and Cypher!), and we'll learn how to model, store, and query data in Neo4j using GraphQL and Cypher to power our web application.

Real World Polyglot Persistence and Import
Note: Trainings and workshops will be held on October 23rd at Convene Conference Center, located at 810 7th Ave, New York NY. All sessions on this day require a ticket type that includes "Training and Workshop Day."

There are lots of ways to import data into Neo4j, from APOC procedures to the neo4j-import tool. It can be hard to work out which approach you should be using. In this session we'll attempt to demystify graph import. We'll look at a simple framework for working out which tool is most appropriate and then go through each of them in turn.
There'll be hands on examples showing how to bulk load massive datasets, process streaming data from APIs, and use the Neo4j languages drivers.

Building Microservices using Spring Cloud and Spring Boot
Note: Trainings and workshops will be held on October 23rd at Convene Conference Center, located at 810 7th Ave, New York NY. All sessions on this day require a ticket type that includes "Training and Workshop Day."

**This course requires some Java experience***

The transition to microservices can be an exciting change of pace for developers. But how can graphs connect domain data together from different microservices? In this session you’ll learn how to use Spring Data Neo4j and Spring Boot to create connected views of data from multiple microservices.

You’ll learn:

  • The basics behind using Event Sourcing and CQRS to replicate connected domain data in microservice architectures
  • How to build event-driven microservices using Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Stream, and Spring Data Neo4j
  • Why event-driven microservices help to solve certain data consistency when joining together disparate sources of domain data
  • How to build a reporting microservice that can turn an event stream into a connected view of all your domain data

Data Science with Neo4j
Note: Trainings and workshops will be held on October 23rd at Convene Conference Center, located at 810 7th Ave, New York NY. All sessions on this day require a ticket type that includes "Training and Workshop Day."

Although Neo4j is often using by application developers, there's a growing trend of data scientists using graphs to help with their work.

In this session we'll look at how to combine Neo4j and the Cypher query language with the Python data science stack including libraries such as Pandas and matplotlib.
We'll look at how to do exploratory data analysis as well as find insights into networked datasets using the newly released graph algorithms package through the use of hands on tutorials.

Note: Trainings and workshops will be held on October 23rd at Convene Conference Center, located at 810 7th Ave, New York NY. All sessions on this day require a ticket type that includes "Training and Workshop Day."

By the end of this workshop, we'll show you how to deploy a Neo4j Causal Cluster with machines in multiple availability zones and read replicas in multiple regions.  We'll discuss and implement best practices for machine sizing, backup, disk selection, network settings, monitoring and backup for our cluster.  We'll also discuss how to write cluster-backed graph applications.

We'll use AWS and Linux for the workshop, and attendees will be able to follow along on their own AWS accounts if they choose. Of course, we'll also talk about other cloud technologies.
Pre-requisites: Understanding of Cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, AzureBasic understanding of Neo4jOptional: AWS account (with billing enabled) to follow along
